Q: 
Why are there so few questions on this page?
A: 
Up to now, we did not receive many frequent questions. If we knew about unclear points in advance, we would have probably designed that different. However, if questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact us. This will have even three advantages: You will get an answer to your question. We know what is unclear and should be improved. Other SweepMe! users facing the same question will find the answer on this page, once added to the FAQ.
Q: 
What is the best way to cite the program?
A: 
Together with your installation, you will find a file "SweepMe!.bib" which contains information about the authors, the program name, the version of your installation and so on.
However, if you use LateX, the format of a reference depends on the citation style and some information could be missing.

A reference should at least include the following information:
  • the webpage sweep-me.net
  • the correct program name SweepMe!
Here are some example which work:
  • Axel Fischer and Felix Kaschura, SweepMe! - A multi-tool measurement software (sweep-me.net)
  • SweepMe! - A multi-tool measurement software (sweep-me.net), Version x.x.x.x
  • inline: e.g. "... and used the measurement software SweepMe! (sweep-me.net) in order to...."
Troubleshooting
Q: 
I use Windows 10 and installed SweepMe! successfully. Still, I cannot start the program. What can I do?
A: 
We figured out that after a recent Windows 10 update, SweepMe! does not start as usual. Please use the Windows 8 compatibility mode instead:

Q: 
SweepMe! shows the splash screen at the beginning, but crashes before the graphic interface is shown. What can I do?
A: 
Sometimes it can be related to a missing Microsoft NET4.0 Framework. You can find an installer here:

Q: 
What can I do if the program crashes during startup saying that api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing?
